TST Defense conducted the removal and replacement of 7 damaged windows on the primary flight control tower of the USS George H.W. Bush. NAVSEA standard items were complied with and a NAVSEA certified quality control plan was adhered to. Work items included:
- Remove original cracked transparent armor window (TAW)
- Clean and prepare original window frame and retainer plate for re-use
- Chase and clean threads and replace hardware
- Reglaze windows using new gaskets and marine grade sealants
- Fasten with properly calibrated torque wrench to required ft-lbs
- Package for transportation in heavy duty containers
