TST Defense conducted the removal and replacement of a damaged window on the bridge of the USS Arlington. NAVSEA standard items were complied with and a NAVSEA certified quality control plan was adhered to. Work items included:
- Remove original cracked transparent armor window (TAW)
- Clean and prepare original window frame and retainer plate for re-use
- Chase and clean threads and replace hardware
- Set new transparent armor window with a specialty air powered rotating lift
- Seal with marine grade adhesives
- Fasten with properly calibrated torque wrench to required ft-lbs
- Comply with government checks
- Provide all paperwork and documentation to adhere to NAVSEA procedures
