Research Vessel Matthew F. Maury Repairs

TST Defense conducted the replacement of engine exhaust pipes and installed a new life raft to the Research Vessel Matthew F. Maury. The scope of work included:

  • Remove and replace cast iron starboard engine 5″ exhaust pipes with new stainless steel piping.
  • Provide new exhaust rated hoses at each end of both new pipes and secure new hoses with stainless steel hose clamps.
  • Install new anti-chafing material between existing exhaust hangars and new piping.
  • Provide new L025IBA0 Viking, open reversible, 25 persons, type IBA life raft in low profile container, aka “Flat Pack”.
  • Provide and install aluminum mounting cradle and hydrostatic release for L025IBA0
  • Provide all applicable certifications, manuals, and documents pertaining to life raft ownership, operation, and USCG compliance.
